Procedure for video audition
Information regarding the online application and the hearing procedure
The final auditions of the selected candidates will be held in presence. As an alternative, in the event that this is not possible due to the limitations in place, it will be possible to make the final selection online.
Pre-selection
The deadline for submitting your application, using the specific online form on the website, is 31 May 2024.
We remind you that only the candidates who have submitted the complete application, as indicated by the following parameters, will be considered for the selection.
STEPS:
- To apply for the pre-selections it is necessary to fill in the online selection form at the end of the page dedicated to the instructions for the video auditions.
- Following the video instructions, which can be viewed by clicking the button at the end of this page, create the video, making sure that what is required for age and level is present.
- Send the video, in link or attachment format (using the drag & drop box in the form) accompanied by CV, identification document and three full-length photos in dancewear, as requested in the video instructions. The subject of the form should be Name Surname // Pre-selection video AA 2024/2025.
The results of the pre-selections will be sent via email within 15 working days of receiving the application

Final Selection
Selected candidates are invited to present themselves at the Ateneo della Danza headquarters on 28 April 2024, during the Spring Stage 2024.
The Examining Commission is made up of the Artistic Direction and the teaching staff of the Professional Training Course of the University of Dance. The Commission will evaluate the physical predisposition, the technical level and the artistry. During the interview, for the selected candidates, the Artistic Direction will mainly focus on the candidate's strengths and any gaps as well as illustrating the contract to the candidate and to parents or guardians.
The outcome of the final hearing will be communicated at the end of the same.

Admission is possible for students, of both sexes, from 10 years old (enrollment in the sixth grade in September 2024) to 22 years old.
The level of inclusion in the classes is at the discretion of the Examining Commission, regardless of the age of the candidate.
Registration Requirements
The following requirements apply only to candidates who pass the final audition and who accept the contractuality illustrated during the interview with the Artistic Direction.
- Conclusion of the elementary cycle. At the end of the course, the student must have obtained, or obtain during the last year, the high school diploma *
- Positive judgment for admission
- Possibility to pay the full tuition for the current academic year **
- For foreigners, knowledge of the Italian language at level A2 ***
* foreign students can present a diploma that is equivalent to the Italian one.
** it is possible to request, after an interview with the Administrative Department, a different payment in installments compared to the one in the contract.
*** foreign students, who do not have the required level of Italian, must enroll in a course that issues certification of language learning at level A2, either independently or through the Ateneo della Danza, which relies on the University for Siena foreigners. The language course has an extra cost and is not part of the annual fee.

The attached video must be in mp4 format. In the event that the link to a video previously uploaded on Youtube or Vimeo is inserted, the format in which it was uploaded on the channel is accepted.
The minimum and maximum duration of the video is indicated in the video information that can be found by clicking the button at the end of this page.
No. To be valid, the video must follow the guidelines in the video information, with appropriate clothing and without the use of stage costumes.
The video can also be edited in an amateur way, but videos with frames that do not allow a clear view of the exercise will not be accepted, also due to sudden cuts.
The visa for study purposes must be requested directly by the student from the Italian Embassy of his / her country of citizenship. The University of Dance, after receiving communication from the student that it has started the procedure, will produce the necessary documents that will be requested at the appointment at the embassy for the issuance of the Visa. Once arrived in Italy, it will be up to the student to request an appointment for the residence permit. The Secretariat of the University of Dance will be able to help but will not take care of the case instead of the student.
The possibility of accessing the courses is at the complete discretion of the Examining Commission. At their sole discretion, the Artistic Direction and the Teaching Body may decide to accept candidates of a lower level than what would be required for their age. Students will then be placed in a lower course than their peers, in order to recover the technical gaps. On the other hand, it is not possible to be admitted at a higher level than one's own age, as, to obtain the diploma, it is necessary to have, or to achieve within the last academic year, the high school diploma.
The school has a guesthouse for students who do not reside in Siena with their parents. Adult students are allowed to search for accommodation independently outside the University of Dance's guesthouse. The cost of the tuition, including accommodation, is shown in the enrollment contract, in the FULL-TIME section.
Yes. Students who have yet to finish their studies can be placed in public or private schools in the Municipality of Siena. At the time of registration, the University of Dance Secretariat will be able to recommend the most suitable school based on what the student has already studied.

The University of Dance has planned some audition dates for access to the Professional Training Course Academic Year 2020-2021. The dates, compared to other years, are concentrated in the summer period, following the state of emergency caused by the Covid-19 pandemic:

HOW TO PARTICIPATE
All auditions will be held at the headquarters of the Ateneo della Danza, in Piazza Maestri del Lavoro, 31 in Siena. The audition will consist of a ballet lesson in multiple groups depending on age. All participants must present themselves with appropriate clothing: the girls in bodysuits and pink stockings, with their hair neatly tied in a bun, and must be equipped with half-tips and tips (if they have already started the work on pointe); the boys in long academic or tight-fitting t-shirts and culottes and equipped with demi-pointes. The outcome of the audition will be communicated after the end of all lessons and all candidates who have obtained access will have an interview, together with their parents, with the Artistic and Administrative Direction. In case of non-admission, it will still be possible to request an interview which will be agreed based on the availability of the Management at the end of the interviews of the candidates with access. PRIVATE HEARINGS
If it is not possible to register for public hearings, it is possible to request a private hearing by contacting the University of Dance secretariat directly. All candidates must send three full-length dance photos, not in stage costumes, in the following positions:
- I position of the feet, arms in preparation
- Battement tendu a la seconde, arms in XNUMXnd position
- I arabesque (for candidates under 12 years old, battement tendu derriere, arms in I arabesque)
- Developpé a la seconde, arms in 12th position (from XNUMX years old)
The secretariat will collect all applications and agree on the date of the private hearing directly with the candidate, to be held at the University of Dance headquarters, in Piazza Maestri del Lavoro, 31 in Siena.
The audition will consist of an individual ballet lesson or together with the students of the Professional Training Course of the same age as the candidate.
All participants must present themselves in appropriate clothing: the girls in pink bodysuits and stockings, with their hair tied well in a bun, and must have half-tips and spikes (if they have already started work on the toe); the boys in long academic or tight-fitting T-shirts and shorts and half-tips.
The outcome of the audition will be communicated after the end of the lesson during an interview that will take place between the candidate, their parents, the Artistic and Administrative Directorate.
