EXperimental Performance
Ex.Pe. is a three-year specialization aimed at dancers and students who wish to study in depth knowledge of contemporary dance. The study of technique, experimentation, improvisation and multiple performative experiences, will allow students to acquire greater technique and artistic awareness.
During the program, students will have the opportunity to attend workshops with guest teachers, take part in choreography competitions, as well as working approaches with "site-specific" performances, choreographic debuts by guest choreographers and preparation for auditions.















The project

EX.PE. is a training program aimed at dancers and students who wish to deepen their knowledge of contemporary dance. The study of technique, experimentation, improvisation and multiple performative experiences will allow participants to acquire greater technical and artistic awareness, defining their own language.
Today, dancer profession requires an increasingly complete and specific preparation which, in addition to academic techniques, includes knowledge in the field of composition and improvisation.
Through contemporary technique classes, workshops of instantaneous composition, somatic practices, movement analysis, contact improvisation, partering, theater-dance and ballet technique, EX.PE. offers advanced preparation for professional carrer.
The educational path intends to make the participants protagonists, actively inserting them in the creative process, an important moment of training, sharing and exchange of information. During the academic year there will be three moments dedicated to the performance: "Open Rooms", "Public Space" and "Performace in Theater". EX.PE. is a program for dance disciplines and it is able to provide each participant excellent technique, preparation and tools for enhancing their artistic skills.
The project is promoted by the Ateneo della Danza di Siena with the artistic direction of Marco Batti and supported by permanent teachers Camille Granet, Fabiola Zecovin, Francesca Duranti, Alessandro Fava, Luisella Cappa Verzone, Laura Ricci, Giuseppe Giacalone and by experienced guest teachers international.
